Two women, one Israeli-born and deeply religious and the other, secular, disdainful of tradition, and French-born, meet at a yeshiva in Safed.  Although very different in every respect, they become deeply involved with one another, both emotionally and physically.  Their interaction with a mysterious woman, who has come to Safed to die, changes their lives forever.
