Several important historical figures including Ben Gurion, Golda Meir, Moshe Sertok, General George Marshall and King Abdullah of Jordan are featured characters in this riveting historical film.

As the State of Israel celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2008, the Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival and the Consul General of Israel, the Northwest Region present a documentary about one of the most atypical popular figures in its history. Who is Abie Nathan? The short answer: an Israeli philanthropist, a tireless peace campaigner and, last but not least, the proud owner of and the driving force behind the offshore pirate radio station, the Voice of Peace, that was airing its messages of peace towards the warring parties in the conflict between Israel and its neighboring countries from 1973 till 1993. Filmmaker Eytan Harris worked for several years capturing key episodes in Abie's colorful life of humanity, music, and peace in this not-to-miss documentary.

2008 SVJFF kicks off with Sold-Out Show/New Contest

SVJFF Launches Yearlong Programming

A sold-out crowd watched a special showing of the highly-awarded Israeli film "The Band's Visit" at the Camera 7 theater in Campbell on January 17th inaugurating the new Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival.

New Festival President, Lorin Fink, promised this would be the first of many "Film Events" the SVJFF would put on during the 2008 year to complement its annual Fall Festival in October/November. The event was capped off with everyone in the audience receiving a 1st Edition SVJFF t-shirt. This also inspired a new yearlong Contest involving the t-shirts.
